The hot air balloon has no engine and only moves with the wind. Before the ride, the pilot knows the approximate direction of travel based on the current wind direction, but not the exact route. No two balloon rides are the same, even if they start from the same starting point. It is therefore not possible to choose a specific route during the balloon ride.
It is also not possible to choose a specific landing location during the balloon ride. The exact landing location is not known before the ride. Towards the end of the ride, the pilot looks for a suitable field in the region where the balloon was driven by the wind.
